self-explanatory new yorker cover.

a last meal at the empire diner,
on thursday may 13, 2010.
i used to love going to empire diner,
and i'm sorry that it's closing.
and being replaced by a coffee shop franchise.




one of the best omelets ever,
it was perfect for a late night meal -
4 or 5 am -
after whatever bar or club i'd been to with friends,
or for breakfast at the actual start of the day.
ordering it became a pleasant habit,
a habit that i'm sorry must now come to an end.


a heart indeed.
